Watt Ya Doin' This Fine Autumn

So, it's been a while since I have been able to post but hardly ever is still better than never, right. We have been having so much fun discovering Mississippi and Memphis together. We make almost weekly visits to the Memphis Zoo (which is awesome by the way), check out new stores, go to parks, and play in our yard. Although, I miss Josh while he is at school it has been so fun getting so close with my kids. It's so nice that we can play together everyday! There are times I need a break from them but these past few I have just really had so much fun staying home with them. I feel bad that Josh has to miss many of their sweet, cute, hilarious moments but he at least experiences some of them. I am so proud of him and his dedication toward his schooling.

So, another thing that we have been doing that is very fun is having people over at our house for crazy parties. And by party I mean dinner, possibly dessert and a game. We are pretty crazy party animals. We had a pie night. I made two pies (Triple Berry ribbon pie and strawberry Rhubarb pie) and we had maybe 4 more couples come and bring pie or a pie-like dessert. It was heaven. Josh figured out a way to make Pie Day on October 12th if you want to know ask me but it's a pretty complex explanation.

Halloween was also so fun. We went to our church for a trunk or treat. They had a hayride that drove through a really pretty part of Southaven. Kaitlyn was a Princess and so when she found other princesses at the party she naturally followed them around holding her dress very properly the whole time I might add. Jaxon was the Cutest clown ever! Nanna did a great Job sewing the costumes. Our neighbors across the street invited us to go trick or treating with them and then we went to their house afterward for food and fun. It was a really fun Halloween.

Anyway, so much has happened and too little time to get caught up on everything. Here are some fun Kaitlyn and Jaxon facts.
Kaitlyn:

Kailtyn has an imaginary named... Cinderella of course. For some reason Cinderella is always running in the road and Kailtyn yells, "Erllella, come on! It's Dangerous!" Kaitlyn will sing the Song from Ella Enchanted with feeling. She is totally potty trained and tells me what animals her poo poo is shaped like. Right now her favourtie color is blue and she loves horses. She says that's her favorite Animal at the Zoo (strange- there aren't any horses at the Zoo oh well!) She is so funny and makes me laugh every day!

Jaxon:

So you, may be wondering why Jaxon has a bucket on his head. One of his favorite things to do right now is take that thing on and off. It is actually pretty hilarious. He'll crawl over with that thing on and now he tries to walk with it on but the balance thing is compromised due to the extra weight of the bucket. He is a crazy boy. He is always in to everything. He loves to be chased, throw balls and tackle Kaityln. Anything that I say is off limits intrigues him. He says uh oh, mama, I love you and constantly tries to repeat what we are saying. He is so happy and loves to make people laugh.

So I got some new glasses! I love that Josh is going to be an optomitrist because I love getting new, discounted glasses!

New State, New House, New School, New People... a whole lot of NEW!

I really like Mississippi. People are so nice down here and there a lot of younger couples going to SCO down here. So I have made some friends. We finally have internet!! Now I can take some pictures of the area and share them with all of you. Our neighborhood is so cute and peaceful. Everyone does a really great job of keeping their yards clean and beautiful. Our yard on the other hand needs a little cleaning up. We had a dead tree in our front yard when we drove up. Fortunate, we have finally removed the dead tree and mowed some of our jungle grass. I do love our house though. It stays cleaner and the kids don't go crazy because there is room to move. Thank you so much all those who helped get it in living condition (cleaning, putting in the flooring, moving the boxes, etc.) A lot of hard work! We aren't totally moved in yet but we are doing a little at a time because that is what we can do right now. We plan on painting in the next week or two. We have the paint, we just need to finish the prep work.

Josh is really enjoying school. They dove right in to teaching and Josh seems to be doing well. He has a member of the faculty as his adviser and say he's really funny (mostly because this guy is a complete nerd who wears a bow tie everyday and says the funniest things!). We will see how his schooling continues, it's only been a week. He got a lot of his official optometry equipment and "Doctor" materials, so now he wants to check my blood pressure all the time! I'm sure I will suffer eye damage due to my husband checking my eyes on a frequent basis. I am very excited for him and for us as a family while we go through this schooling process together.

I have been trying to potty train more for the last week and Kaitlyn went poo poo in the potty but because we aren't totally settled I can't just focus on potty training and so we have not been successful and so probably going to have to wait until I can really focus on potty training. Maybe when she's a teenager she will finally learn, haha!

Anyway, love it here in the South!

Summer Time

So, I have had many requests to update my blog and so here we go. So much has happened this Summer that I really won't be able to write about everything. We are in the works of buying a home in South Haven Mississippi. We really lucked out with this home because the South is cheaper and also because this house a foreclosure and hence even more affordable. So we got a steal of a deal. So that is very exciting, I hope everything goes well.

Josh's sister recently got married in the Salt Lake Temple. Kailtyn was a flower and adorned a princess dress made by her Nanna. She looked beautiful and Catherine looked gorgeous as well. I love Weddings, there are such happy days! We were glad the wedding was in Utah because we got to visit some of our friends. (If we didn't see you, we wish we would have! Not enough time in a day!) I got to see my sister and together we visited our grandparent's grave. I also received soem of my grandma's things. I love looking at my grandmother's things because there are so many good memories I have of my grandma. I love memories!

Josh has been working really hard painting houses with his brother this summer. I haven't been able to see him as much I wish but I'm so grateful for all of his hard work. We have been visitng with family. In fact, I have seen all of my siblings this summer. I'm glad we got to spend time with family before the big move. We also got to visit friends in Utah one last time before we move down south. This is Kaitlyn's friend Chance! They had a couple goodbye kisses... we didn't force them of course!
Kaitlyn also said Good bye to her friend Briane. She will miss Briane and her toys!

Jaxon is crawling all over and pulling himself to stand. He is really determined and wanting to be a big boy. He sounds like he says "MaMa" but who knows. He is such a sweetie! He also has been enjoying the water this summer. He hears water running anf crawls double time to the tub. It's so funny. He kicks, splashes, and rolls around in the water and I find it quite dangerous at times.
Kailtyn is still my little drama queen. I love her personality. She loves to pretend she's a princess. A few weeks ago I took her with me to the mall. Her Aunt Tine and I were trying on dresses and Kailtyn found a short prom dress she loved. So I put it on her and she was just beaming. She was dancing and singing through the dressing room. It was so cute. She loves to sing dance and read books. She LOVES movies. She knows how to turn the TV on, reset the Input and turn on the DVD palyer. That should tell you how much she loves her movies.

Well life is busy but we have really enjoyed being in Colorado this summer. Here are some random pictures!

Vacationing with the Barlows in California

So, we have been visiting with Christa now for almost 2 weeks. This initial one week vacation was lengthned due to an "offer we couldn't refuse". Sam and Christa offered to pay Josh to paint their kitchen, bathroom, and laundry cupboards and their entertainment center. So, we are still enjoying our time here. Here are some pictures of some of the fun. We have been to a few of Kyle and Alex's baseball games, went to the beach and swam in their pool. I'm really loving having a pool so easily accessible.
